OBITUARY
Janet
Denise Van Pelt of Conway, Arkansas passed
away November 17, 2022. She was born
June 3, 1958 to Henry Leslie and Peggy Van
Pelt.
Janet wore many hats during
her day, but it wasn’t until a misdiagnosis that
unfortunately led her out of early retirement
from South Western Bell that we all learned just
what this woman was truly capable of!
Janet jumped feet first back into the job market
taking whatever came her way!
More times than not she
worked two jobs to make sure her girls continued
dance lessons, softball, and volleyball, all
while never missing a game or performance.
She was the definition of a mama bear who loved
her cubs more than life itself! I loved to
listen to her sing while cooking or putting on a
show for us while in the car to one of many
tournaments. You are truly missed and will
be forever cherished.
Janet was preceeded in death
by her daddy Henry Leslie Van Pelt Jr, mother
Peggy Van Pelt, sister-in-law Kay Van Pelt and
brother Michael Van Pelt.
Janet is survived by her two
daughters Lesli (Colt) Powell and Kylie
Bowden, her grandchildren Dylan,
Riley, Shiloh, Khloe, Presli and
Kenzie Powell all of Mayflower, Arkansas.
brother Gary (Elwanda) Van Pelt of
Sherwood Arkansas, and sister Carol (Bobby)
Taylor of Scott Arkansas. along with many
nieces and nephews.
A memorial will held later
this year to honor this amazing woman I was
fortunate enough to call my mama.
Cremation arrangements are by
A Natural State Funeral Service & Crematory,
2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas,
72076. 501-982-3400. Janet’s online guestbook is

After a long battle with health
problems, Kerrie Waynell Jenkins Listak
Goodnight passed away Saturday, Oct. 24,
2009, in Enid at Northwest Special-ity
Hospital.
Kerrie was born April 25, 1958, in San
Francisco, Calif., to parents Raymond
Jenkins and Anna Waynette Lindsey.
Later in life, Kerrie’s mother remarried
Jerry Listak, and she and the entire
family moved to Lahoma where she grew
up. Kerrie attended school at
Lahoma Public Schools and got her high
school diploma later in life. She
also received her nurse aide and med
aide certification at Autry Technology
Vocational School in Enid, Okla.
Later she received her pharmacy tech
certification.
On June 24, 1974 at the age of 16,
Kerrie married Larry Helgeson, and to
this union were born two daughters,
Kerrie Christal and Jessica Leanne.
Then Kerrie moved to Texas and met the
lover of her life, Charles Edward
Goodnight. They were married in
Mesquite, Texas, on June 5, 1978. This
marriage was blessed with one son,
Kenneth Ray. Charlie and Kerrie lived in
Houston and Rockwell, Texas. Then they
moved back to Lahoma, where Kerrie spent
the remainder of her years.
Over the years, Kerrie worked as a
certified med aide and nurse aide.
Kerrie’s last job was as a pharmacy tech
at WalMart Pharmacy.
Kerrie loved to fish, cook, sew, read a
good book and watch scary movies. She
also loved to be with her dog Callie and
her family and friends.
Her laughter, smile and witty sense of
humor will be so missed. She was a
wonderful mother, daughter, sister,
grandma, and friend, who added to each
life she touched.
She is survived by her children, Kerrie
Burgess and her husband Mark of Enid and
Kenneth Good-night and wife Jennifer of
Lahoma. She also is survived by her
mother and stepfather, Anna Waynette and
Jerry Listak of Lahoma; her sisters,
Christal Skulborstad and husband Mark of
New Caney, Texas, Terry Turner and
husband Rob of Minot, N.D., Tamara
Shroyer of Enid, Renee Coaley and
husband Jay of Lahoma and Jordell Vodry
of Yukon; one brother, Jerry Listak and
wife Kelly of Clinton; seven
grandchildren, Britney and Bradley
Goodnight, Brandon and Kateland Seal,
Preston and Jennie Burgess and
Christ-opher Schaffler. Kerrie has many
nieces, nephews and friends who will
greatly miss her.
Kerrie was preceded in death by her
infant daughter, Jessica; three nephews;
her sister, Ginger Wilson; and her
husband, Charlie Goodnight.
Heaven’s latest angel has won her wings
today.
Memorials may be made to the Zion
Lutheran Church Cemetery in Kerrie’s
name with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home
serving as custodian of the funds.
